Unexplained Mysteries – Interpreting the Spirits
Predicting the future using Tarot Cards might seem to some like just a silly pastime for those who wish to waste money, paying others to advise them of their unknown future. There are mediums that specialise in this form of psychic discipline geared towards predicting future events such as John Edward, who was a practitioner of this form of spirit communication and enjoyed a good living from his successful consultations. However, it all changed for him one day when he witnessed his first materialisation. His Aunt Anna, although she didn’t believe in spiritualism, thought she would humour Edward by asking him to read the tarot cards for her, even though she regarded the cards as just a childish magic trick.
While Edward was in the process of reading the cards, he casually looked up for a moment and was surprised to see a woman standing behind his aunt. The woman was in her sixties, wearing a black dress with a flower-shaped brooch and appeared to have only one leg. After telling his aunt what he had seen and describing the woman, his aunt was shocked as the description fitted that of her deceased mother-in-law who had lost a leg to diabetes. After the woman suddenly vanished, another figure appeared and this time it was a man. He was impeccably dressed in a pin-stripe suit, tall and slender with grey hair. However, after Edward described the man to his aunt, she didn’t recognise him. In an attempt to discover the man’s identity, Edward asked the man to indicate who he was. The man slowly lifted a large comb from his pocket and pointed to a clock surrounded by a bunch of flowers that showed the time at ten past two; then the vision abruptly disappeared, leaving Edward and his aunt puzzled by the message.
Then, approximately one week later, Edward’s Uncle Carmine died unexpectedly of a heart attack. While Edward and his Aunt Anna were attending the uncle’s funeral, they noticed that the family always marked the deceased’s time of death on a clock and had placed the clock amongst a bunch of flowers. The time shown was ten past two. Surprised at what they saw, Edward mentioned the story of the spirit they had seen earlier to a cousin, and the cousin informed them that the description was of their Uncle Carmine’s dead father, who was a barber.
In some cases, it is difficult for a person to interpret the words and meanings behind the vague messages received from a spirit, as they can sometimes be clouded by the medium’s beliefs. On other occasions, messages can cause confusion as they might not be in order or are mixed up and relate to other unconnected circumstances. It has been suggested that spirits don’t know time as the living understand it. When the vision of Uncle Carmine’s dead father was asked who he was, he responded with another different message altogether concerning his son, who was about to die.
